We often turn on our GPS to help us get to a destination, yet many of us fail to plan to how to get to a personal milestone. Honing your skills to navigate the opportunities and obstacles of life with compassion, care and clarity can drive you to a more satisfactory and successful outcome. Consider any of the following:
Moving: Anything counts when it comes to movement, let go of rigid durations or intensity and simply do what feels right at the time you designate to take action. Eating: Meal prep, use speed scratch items, have a few “go-to” recipes, pantry stock to make meals easier for you and always plan on eating (something) vs. skipping or snacking your way through the day and night. Sleeping: Have a bedtime (seriously) and make it something you look forward to. Create a pre-bed menu of things you “get” to do, (sip tea, shower, slather on lotion, savor a good book or simply slip under the covers) and lean into how relaxed and ready for sleep you may be. Working: What are your career aspirations? Think about it and determine if they are really what you want or just feel as though this is what you should want. Take some time to review where you are, what you want and what is next. Socializing: Populate your calendar with activities and people that you truly enjoy. Aim to not over-schedule and be mindful to look ahead a few weeks and potentially block some days/nights for having no plans. Being: Take a pause and just be. Focus on the present and appreciate your here and now, navigating absolutely nothing but the now. Realistically refining your approach to pursuing personal fulfillment can be the “me” map you need, want and deserve, not to mention making you feel really fine.
